David Schwindt is a seasoned landscape painter whose work reflects a lifelong connection to the American Southwest. Raised in the Four Corners region, he has spent decades exploring and painting the terrain that shaped him—from the mesas of Colorado to the canyons of Arizona and the open skies of New Mexico. Since beginning his full-time art career in Santa Fe in 1971, David has exhibited nationally, taught across the Southwest, and contributed articles to leading art publications. His plein air practice remains central to his approach, using on-site sketches to capture the light, mood, and spirit of the land.
