Salinas Pueblo Missions is Hiring a Community Volunteer Ambassador
Salinas Pueblo Missions is hiring a Community Volunteer Ambassador (CVA) to join its Interpretation and Visitor Services Division Team from January through December 2025. The CVA Program provides a diverse group of emerging leaders with the opportunity to assist park units in building lasting connections with communities. The CVA here at Salinas Pueblo Missions will work closely with NPS Ranger Natalia Sanchez Hernandez to:
- Create innovative and diverse strategies to recruit volunteers with a focus on youth.
- Create new - and leverage existing - community partnerships.
- Support the creation of innovative communication with the park's tribal partners, particularly with tribal youth.
Minimum requirements for candidates include:
- Must be 18-30 years old (veterans up to 35 years old).
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Be able to provide proof of driver's license and complete a Motor Vehicle Record check.
- Willing and able to represent Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument professionally, positively, and enthusiastically.
- Open to learning new things and working outside their comfort zone.
Benefits for the position include:
- $600/week living stipend.
- $150/week in housing allowance (if housing is not provided).

- The position is eligible for an AmeriCorps Education Award of $7,395 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of the program.
- $1,200 in Professional Development funds for training, networking, conferences, and/or travel.

- Week-long in-person training at a National Park System site with travel/meal expenses covered.
