Flood Watch Remains in Effect Until 10 PM MDT This Evening

The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch at 1:00 PM for the Estancia Valley, Manzano Mountains, and Sandia Mountains, which remains in effect until 10:00 PM this evening. Storms in the area can produce torrential rainfall at rates exceeding two inches per hour. Areas where the ground is already saturated from recent rainfall, burn scars, and urban areas are particularly vulnerable to rapid runoff and flash flooding. Excessive runoff may result in the flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
